  • First Fix Decided Early

Soil connection, waste falls and pipe routes are fixed before a tile goes on.

  • Flow Rate Measured

The shower you want has to suit the water your property actually gets.

  • Stage By Stage

Strip out, first fix, boarding, tiling and second fix, each one listed.

  • One Room, One Quote

The whole refit in one written price rather than a trade at a time.

The order it has to run in

Strip out. Then first fix: hot, cold and waste brought to the exact positions of the fittings, soil connection set, any studwork or boxing built, and the floor levelled. Then the wet trades, which is boarding, tanking in the wet area, screeding and tiling. Then second fix: the sanitaryware, brassware, shower valve and screen fitted to pipework that is already where it should be. Then the sealing, the trims and the testing.

The point of that order is that nothing in the middle can be undone cheaply. A waste run that ends up 60mm off its fitting is twenty minutes at first fix and a day of broken tiles afterwards.

Bathroom Installation is priced after the job has been seen, anywhere in the areas we cover. Send the postcode and a few lines about what it is doing when you contact us, and the answer comes back in writing.

The Job In Detail

What Bathroom Installation Involves

Falls and the soil connection

Waste pipes run on a fall, and a bathroom has to find that fall within the floor depth available. A bath and a shower tray both sit low, so getting a continuous fall from them to the stack is often the single constraint that decides where the shower can go at all. Where the stack is on the other side of the room, the fall needed over that distance may mean a step up into the shower or a different layout.

A WC needs a short, direct run to the soil stack. Moving a toilet more than a couple of metres means either a macerator, which brings its own rules and noise, or opening the floor.

Flow rate decides the shower

This is the measurement to take before choosing anything. Mains pressure sells showers; mains flow rate delivers them. A property with good pressure and poor flow will disappoint with a high output mixer, and the honest answers are a pump on a stored system, or a shower chosen to suit the flow that is actually there. We measure it at the start rather than discovering it at handover.

Who does what

Plumbing, first and second fix, waste and soil work are ours. Tiling, electrics and plastering are coordinated around the plumbing sequence so nobody is waiting on anybody, and the programme is set out in the quote with the trades named against each stage.

How It Works

How A Bathroom Installation Job Runs

01

Describe the room

Its size, what is in it now, and what you want in it when it is finished.
02

The fixed points

Soil stack, waste route and incoming pressure are checked, since they decide the layout.
03

A staged quote

Every stage in order with the price beside it, so nothing is a surprise mid-job.
